Flowmaster lifespan
Anyone from NorthEast and/or snow/salt country? I was wondering, on average, how long a flowmaster system (all aluminized) may last here in the NE with all the snow/salt conditions? Yrs? Compared to stainless? Your best guess of course.
Thanks.
Thanks.
I live in Long Island, and their belief in handling snowstorms is to dump as much salt on the roads as possible before, during, and after snowstorms. Instead of plowing most roads, they actually dump sand and salt right on top of compressed snow. Anyways, needless to say, we have all kinds of salt to deal with, along with the ocean to the South and Sound to the North.
I've run non-stainless Flowmasters on akll my cards/trucks, and I've had them last, on average, about 3 years.

Your thoughts are my thoughts exactly. I put my muffler on with the intention of changing it within the next year or two, basically it was a trial basis. The next round will be the stainless flowmaster set-up.
go with the magnaflow I had flowmaster on another truck and it lasted about 3 years before it fell apart. change over to magnaflow and it was in perfect condition when I traded for my dodge 3 years later.
I dont think I've heard the Magnaflow on a truck, in person. I love the sound of the Flowmaster - that throaty, rumbly roar...
