I have an 06 2wd with the 4.7 and a manual tranny. I'm getting around 17 mpg, driving roughly 65% highway, 35% city. I've done a few tanks that've been all highway, and it'll get better than 19 mpg there. I'm putting a topper on it in the next few weeks (I just ordered it Friday) and I'm interested to see what, if any, difference that'll make. I've also heard that taking the muffler off (and leaving the two resonators) is a good, cheap way to gain a few mpg.

I have an 05 ST CC 4.7 5speed auto, soft tonneau, airaid modular intake tube with K&N drop in,and the exhaust setup mb18 described,I mostly run hwy in the summer running 70 with ac maxxed around 18,with out the ac in cooler weather it goes up to little better than 21.Like I said that mostly hwy.in the summer here in TX it averages mid 90s I notice a improvement in performance when it starts dropping into the 80s.

I have an 06 Quad Cab with 7,000 mil. 4.7L Auto with the 3.92 LSD rear axle. I get 14.5 MPG driving 90% city. I hear the 3.55 rear end gets 1-2 more MPG.

I have an bone stock 06 QC SLT 4x2 4.7 3.55 rear and tow package... Mostly highway (75%), I get 17~17.5mpg at 75mph - AC on or off. It runs about 2100 RPM cruising, not much different than 65. I had one run of 100% highway and got 18.5mpg. I only have 4200mi on it so far. I'll be adding a tonneau - we'll see if that does anything or not.

05 QC SLT 2x4 Auto w/ 3.55 gears, 16,000 mi. I'm getting 14.9 all city. On my only highway road trip I got 20.3 at 75/80 mph with A/C on.

'05 4.7, auto, tonneau, 3.55, Flowmaster 1-into-2, Airraid CAI.
17 all city (but here in Texas I don't see many traffic jams. 12.25 all freeway at 70 mph. I have a pretty light foot so maybe that accounts for the good mileage.

ive got 24k miles. Drop in K&N Filter and a 2 Chamber Flowmaster Exhaust system. I get between 17.5-24mpg on highway, dependent upon me driving 70 or 65. Im in Flat Kansas and the wind here factors in a lot.
