I have been a member of this forum for a short period, about eight months. I have gotten some good information from many members who are willing to share their knowledge. Now I have reached the end of the line with this forum. It seems as if this forum has turned from the sharing of a common interest into sniping with one and another. Maybe in the future this forum will get back on track. I use to enjoy taking a few minutes each day reading these postings. To all who have been helpful. Thank you.

RE: End of the line
The maturity level around here could definitely improve. I think we have a lot of younger members though...and boys will be boys. Some people take sarcasm better than others and sometimes it's just hard to get sarcasm over the internet.

Another problem I see is, there's not 1 place where Dakota owners post their questions and look for answers. There seems to be a division among which board people call home. For example, the other board I go to is dodge talk. I like the format there much (reads MUCH!!!) better than this one. But, no one posts over there. We need to have 1 place where everyone calls home.

The maturity level needs to increase and better help given where needed. I think that will come when more members are added (better cross section). Also, these GenIII's are still new. It will take some time.

That's all for now.

RE: End of the line
I agree with you Fly,it's a open forum some of us may act a little imature but some take it way to seriously,I've been guilty of that a few times.I like Dodge Talk to but for some reason it's dead over there. This seems to be the most active forum so I guess will see all types on here.

RE: End of the line
To be fair, all forums have their good/bad sides.....however I think that several members are taking offense or getting upset over things that could easily be fixed. You have to remember that your reading text, and that you can not always read intent or hear how a person would say it. Sarcasm and joking can easily come across as being rude and offensive.....and vice versa.

Too many people split their time with 3,4,5,6 and more forums, and this in turn causes more problems. Not that there is anything wrong with belonging to multiple forums, but at some point you have to make a choice on where you can truly help or get help...and make a committment. I've been on a Dakota forum before...and I'm on a Stratus forum....and I've found better info here then I did on either of those forums.... That doesnt however mean it will be the same for everyone.

You have a fairly new vehicle, and most of the posts I've seen regarding the new Dakota have been upset owners...I cant control that, and no one on this forum can either. If you feel there's a problem, please...contact one of us moderators or even one of the site moderators/administrators and we'll be happy to listen to your complaints/problems. Sometimes we need you to let us know there is a problem.

I'm truly sorry that you feel that way and that you feel the need to move on to another forum. I wish you good luck and good hunting with your information needs. More importantly, you'll always be welcome here at DodgeForum.

RE: End of the line
You know I agree with DevilsReject 100%.

I spend most my time online here. At this forum rather than the ones I used to be on all the time... I still visit those old sites still, cuz I love seeing what people have to say still. A lot of those other sites were filled with people mid 20s cuz, you don't see a lotta people in the later years of life, spending 30,000 on an econo box with a turbocharger pushing 300+whp. So there wasn't a lot of bitching going on there.

I can see how the age difference can allow there to be complaining and whining and things of the sort. I would love for things to cool down here, but I know that's not going to happen very easily.

So. *thumbs up*

RE: End of the line
im not doubting, but could you guys possibly email me instances of the problem, as you see it? once i can see the problem as you guys do, we can begin fixing it.

also, while we certainly cant redesign the layout of the site, could you guys let me know what you feel would improve the user-friendliness of the site...i like to hear the input of unhappy members, as they are the most critical, and can help us adapt the site, when possible, to try to suit everyone.

RE: End of the line
Great looking avatar Pat.

I like this site because all vehicles are included as long as their dodge. I visit another site where it's just Daks and they don't like the newest Gen. Oh well. I still go there because I've met some of the people first hand. I'm slowly changing their minds.

At any rate, you'll find people bicker over nothing anywhere you go; to include jobs, vacations and friends. I wouldn't sweat it. I just ignore it or if I think one person is way off base, I'll let them know and let it go.

RE: End of the line
This sounds a lot like what I posted the other day. This board needs some improvements.. Go to vtxoa.com and just look around. I know its a bike board. But, its been around forever. You learn something new every day. Hell, every half a day. I think we love our trucks as much as they love their bike. So why cant we have a board like that.
Take a look at the tech section and see how much each member tries to help the other. They have more posts than you can keep up with. Here, if someone gets a idea or new part 50% will say whats wrong with it. Buy the way, If you read a post with someone having a problem, there is no need to post that you are not. I think the poster is looking for a answer to the problem. Not, a too bad for you!, response. The board wont last long like this. If your checking in daily you already see it happening. It takes days to get anthing new on here. Hope things change.

VTX

PS.. Dont get to pissed about this post, at least its new. Dont see that very often!

See if this post gets pulled...

RE: End of the line
heres an idea...this goes out to the moderators-----------------
could we maybe have a general board...for whatever we want including complaints and silly posts
and then a tech/performance board for useful info and good questions??? thatd be awesome...then peeple can avoid what they dont want to see.... just a thought?
