I think that's "Midwestern" humor. After those of us on the East coast blow away in the ultimate hurricane and you guys on the West coast drop into the Pacific after the big earthquake, the Midwesterners are going to be the only ones left.

i belive if they had made a reg cab as a option the new dakotas would sell more...a reg cab with a 4.7 H.O would murder a taco or frontier!!!this was the only reason i didnt buy a new dakota..oh well better luck next time i guess!

Shadow that might of been interesting a RC with a 4.7 H.O.,sense I've been on this forum it seems that some of the H.O. guys expected more bang for the buck,I don't know,I wanted the non H.O. 4.7,I didn't want to be pouring premium grade in it,I've been happy with my choice, plus I think the performance crowd want be happy till they drop a HEMI in it,from all the rumors and everything, I want believe it till DC annouces it.

Don’t count on a Hemi in a Gen3. Maybe the next Gen. And yes the 4.7 HO or not is way under powered and that can't be disputed. The Asian six bangers are eating the Daks lunch. That should have never happened. And to add salt to the womb the HO needs plus grade gas to run optimum.

But doesnt the Dakota have a higher tow rating and more cargo hauling power than a tacoma or frontier? Isnt that a reason for a truck? You dont buy a sports car to tow a trailer with do you?

ya it makes no sense bc i live in oklahoma, but grew up in the Rancho Vista area in cali..if you would like me to be more specific i grew up in palmdale back when it was a nice lil city and if u want me to get real specific, palmdale school system is called the falcons.....dad was an inspector on the B-2 at edwards airfore base.... parents grew up in cali. all my relatives are there. i fly back multiple times per year. i have family in granada hills, beverly hills, sun valley, encino, san francisco...would you like me to keep going? have u had a tommy burger lately, how about jack in the box...how how about cupids, man i love and miss cupids...you know what i miss more than cupids....el pollo loco...every time i go back i gotta get me some of that...

thanks i appreciate it, although i love my night runner, i really miss drivin the ram....just too many things goin wrong on it and tired of fixin it plus i really need the 4x4 since im out of the house and in college which makes it hard to borrow my dads truck whenever. it (the ram) also has and idk how i forgot this but a steel cowl hood. right now its unpainted (its black now). right after i got my dakota someone backed into my moms 350z so my dad let my mom drive his truck and he drove my ram. he came to an intersection that had a stop sign in the middle of the road bc the lights werent workin...i have 5% on the side windows and my dad is makin a left (@ night) and couldnt see out of the window and boom took out that stop sign with the left hand side of the truck...the door got a lil red on it but the nerf bar took 99% of the damage, it is all bent to s***. the red mark on the door buffed out but the step is scrap..figure ill sell as is unless they want to pay me to paint the hood. i took off the bars but am including the good one incase they can find a match to it...

Yep that would be the real reason for a truck. But the game is HP with torque The Nissans are way up there with the Frontier as far as hp & torque. The only thing is it is slightly smaller but not nearly as much as previous models. They are catching up in size real quick. The yoda Tacoma with the optional larger V6 is also on powerful and fast and also just a hair smaller. I guess the point here is the Dak V8 is not what is use to be as the most powerful mid size truck. That is because the competition is now mid size when for years the where mini pickups. The Tundra is just a hair larger than a Dak but smaller than the Detroit full size pickups. 07 will change all that with the full size Tundra and engine options of 4.7 @ 271HP and the 5.6 @ around 350HP
