Tell the dealer the thing with the head unit is bull****.

I've had my Alpine head unit in my truck since day two.. never an airbag light when it's not needed.

Default RE: HELP

i had my backpack in the front seat and the "aibag off" light came on. i was pissed, i couldnt figure it out and didnt want to take it in days after i got it, especially since i tried for a while to get the night runner in a dakota with all the options i wanted...that took a while and i wasnt about to take it in, warrenty or not, it was bs. i called and they lady gave me the down low on how the system works. u got somethin in the seat between __lbs and __lbs and the airbag off light comes on. she told me if u frequently have stuff in the seat and the airbag off light is on sometimes the computer calibrations are thrown off and it needs fixed. idk about that, think thats gay and cant see that causing it, but maybe im wrong.

so do u frequently start the truck and turn it off with stuff in the passenger seat light enough to cause the light to come on, bc i guess it can mess up the calibrations and if u keep doin it, and that is the cause, then no wonder u keep havin to take it back...like i said, i find that reasoning hard to believe, but its what the lady told me, so maybe theres truth to it

I have a dodge 2005 dakota. I have like 40,000 miles on it and just recently the air bag light were coming on and off. The passenger bag came on then the dash then the passenger back and forth. I went to the dealer and they said the seats needed to be recalibrated. The dealer calibrated the seats and no problem yet. chris
