Hey!

I wanted to ask you since you have the same 3.7 as me. How do you like the K&N air intake set up and the exhaust? I want to do the same for mine and thought I would ask you first. Is there a reason you stayed with the one out for your exhaust instead of dual?? I was wanting to go dual myself and loud, but not ricer sounding. Someone mentioned 40 series flowmasters, but that was for a 4.7 not the 3.7. Sorry for all the questions! Oh, I'm in S.A. retired A.F. thanks for securing our freedom to play with our trucks!!

Jay

p.s. anyone pipe in here please, golf just has the same set up as I was wanting, but I'm for all views!

Well, I have the Airaid intake. Everything actually came down to price at the time, but I have really enjoyed my setup. I like the Airaid better, it uses the stock airbox and stock intake location (inner right fender) and seals tightly to the hood when closed. Power has been a noticeable improvement with it. As for my exhaust I actually wanted duals out the back, but price was an issue for me ( I'm and instant gratification kinda guy!) So I went with the Gibson single aluminized (350 bucks). I actually like the sound, it's not ricey at all, actually most people think I have a V8 with an aftermarket exhaust. I will be going with a dual stainless setup when I get back from the desert though ( going back to germany and they got hella snow and salt!). I enlisted my wife and dogs to do a recording of the exhaust for you, although it sounds a lot different when I'm actully driving and not just revving it....but I hope this helps

SWEET!!! Amazing sound for a single pipe and a V-6! I appreciate you making the sound check and answering my questions. Money too is my biggest obsticle at the moment, but I'll add what/when I can. Your truck looks fantastic. I will be going with the black teflon coated wheels (to answer your other post) when I upgrade the tire/wheel package. I am going to take a look at the yokohama AT's you mentioned. I haven't seen them yet. The geolanders are nice as well. I have the sapphire blue color, so all accessories I am adding will be black (not into chrome). I am going for the "trail" look instead of big time off-road since it's not a 4x4. There's a steel fabricator I found in Fredericksburg, Tx that will custom make bumpers (front/rear), side steps, headache rack and bed rails. It's expensive, but life time garantee and heavy duty. That's just my style, althought everyone else's trucks here look great too. Makes me wish I had an extra $2-3K laying around!! Take care and I look forward to reading your post.

i went with the full k/n fipk, and was it the right choice. sweet sounding under wot. also as far as exhaust i had to go with the 3 inch single cat back because of the way my trailer hitch and spare tire were. but i am running the 4.7. also cherry bomb just came out with an exhaust for our trucks might want to look into them. my 97 full sizw had the dual system and it sounded great .
