Default powdercoat ?s

bolded ? is main ?

is it possible to powdercoat metallic colors, such as my factory paint, brilliant black metallic?

also, what are some of the advantages of powdercoating?

say you have a sheet of metal powdercoated and a sheet of metal primered painted and cleared...you subject both to harsh elements, powdercoat will last longer right?

how does powdercoat handle? what i mean is, can it be scratched easily?

powercoating is very durable. just like any paint it wont scratch as easy. most people powder coat there headers and they are subject to 1000 degree heat. not that much but around the ball park. most powder coats have shine that last longer. and yes you can have the shop come close to the color of the truck as possible. it is a different science than paint but in the long run worth it. also you might want to get your calipers coated also. that would set the truck off nicely if you are looking into getting rims done. go to www.dodgetruckworld.com and look into there posts on power coating

well im not plannin on gettin rims bc i like mine, if i did i would buy the night runner rims off a ram...and i would keep my origionals...i like the smoked chrome theme that i have goin right now bc my rims are smoked chrome....the reason im askin is bc i think my dad is gettin me some nerf bars for christmas, and i cant decide wether i should get them smoke chromed to match my wheels or have them powdercoated to match my paint...if they can put metallic into powdercoat and match my paint with a powdercoat, im definately leaning towards that

now thats a tuff decesion only you could make, but i think plain chrome would look horrible with the truck. matching the paint would look great. also they would be protected from road hazards like small rocks and pebbles if powder coated. just remember if you chip or scratch the coating you just cant touch it up like paint. it has to go back for the process again.
