Default How to stiffen up the bed?

So I've hauled my motorcycle in the back a couple of times now, & just noticed that the front of the bed is bent towards the cab[:@] And no the tiedowns weren't all that tight, and only hauled the bike a few miles. So I guess my question is do they make something for the purpose of stiffening that top rail, or should I just put a piece of angle iron across there? It might look a little stupid unless I paint it to match the bedliner, but obviously I've got to do something![>:]

I bought one of those ratchet-tpe cargo holder bars....You actually have to be careful when using it tightly at the inner rear of the bed so that you don't spead it apart too far so the tailgate will close right--the point being that if it's tight enough to do that it should also hold the front of the bed from collapsing inward from the torque of the straps....Here's a pic of the bar style:

Put tiedowns in the bed floor.

Hey Guys. I just joined the forum and thought I would put my two cents in on this one as I had the same problem when someone cut me off [:@]and I had to hit the breaks hard. What I do to prevent nowisrun an extra tie down through the front wheel to the back to tie downs to act as a spring linethis keeps the bike from pushing on the front of the bed when you hit the breaks. I have done this a couple of times on trips of 175+Miles and it worlks fine. Only wish I thought of it before I bent the front bed rail. Hope this helps

i hauled my bike and had the same thing happen, front bed support bent all the way into the back of the cab. A buddy of mine races modified dirt circle track cars, so hes got a fancy rivet gun, so i polished up a piece of channel aluminum and riveted it up front. I've hauled a bunch since and it works smoothly. I'll get a picture of it tomorrow in the daylight and attach it.
