I just got my headers bolted up,I wasn't planning on a new exhaust but you know how it goes,if I go with a kit it'll probably be the Gibson single, otherwise tothe local muffler shop for a Flowmaster Deltaflow 40 or 50 series 2.5 in 3inch out single,it never ends more ideals than money,,,,,Happy New Year guys.
Hey, do me a favor, let me know if you can really notcie the difference with those new headers. I would like to do the same with my truck, without adding on any cams or PCM, or anything like that. I already have the cat-back done, but no headers.

I have an 05 dakota with the V8 and a cold air intake, i went with a flowmaster super 40 set up and it sounds great. I brought it to a shop and had them make the piping. for a cat back, single in dual out exhaust it sounds ridiculously good. just be careful of where you bring it to because i'm sure that has an impact on the sound

Ronnus Haven't had a chance to beat on it to much,it seems to takeoff better, the exhaust sounds more throatier I'm running stock with the muffler removed only going thru the resonators,it seems like the temp gauge is showing it running a little cooler,I'm going to drive it awhile then stick my K&N kit back on,I'd say there's an improvement, hopefully with the K&N back on,new exhaust,Fastman throttle body, maybe cams someday it all adds up,I don't believe you're going to see major gains without going into the motor except for putting it on the bottle,I think cams would make a major difference but don't know when that'll happen.

the factory exhaust on my 06 4.7L HO is two cats on the Y, one long muffler right b/4 the rear axle and one resonator right after the rear axle, then exits on the side. Piping is 2.5". One day I'll get around to having the one resonator removed. I wasted my time on a JBA 3" cat-back when I first bought it. Too loud and way too much resonance in the cab. Removed it and went back to stock pronto

Took off the rear resonator, added a chromed universal 2.5 inch with a turn down directly behind the exit of the muffler. Sounds good, not too loud as the housing track I live in people seem to get a little bent about exhaust.

I just put the gibson 3" catbak single on my 06 ho. Sounds the same as stock only slightly louder. I think it was $450 shipped from summit. I got the stainless, aluminized would've only been a little over $300. I haven't tried to see if it helped performance much yet because my cold air intake isn't supposed to be here till next week. When I get that on I'll see how she runs & let you know

with the single you will notice a lot of low end grunt. truck will come out of the hole stronger. then when it gets up in the rpm range you will feel it pull differently. it has that certian growl that the duals just dont have.

Ya I don't see the point to duals, & looking at what gibson makes, seem like they insinuate that the single gives the best performance[sm=icon_cheers.gif]. Single is super easy install, just goes exactly where the stock pipe went. It does seem to take off better, or is that just me listening to the sound?[sm=smarty.gif]
