i have a fewquestions. is it just a hood scoop for looks or does it actually function? where did you get it from? and if it is functioning is there something built in so rain doesn't get into the engine? I like the look, good job on your truck.

where did you get it from though i can probably bring it to a shop around here and have them cut my hood. then just gotta buy a air filter or something. I'm just going back and forth on a hood for my truck right now this is the one i'm thinking its just quite pricy. http://www.keystonerestyling.com/cgi...alogno=GHD-206

I got it from Artioli Dodge in CT....that was the car dealer I bought the truck from and the hood scoop.
And yes I do believe it is the same as the one from the R/T ...that was what made me want one in the first place.
Or you can purchase it online at Autotrucktoys.com
It is the :
OEM Dodge Dakota Bolt-on Single Snorkle Hood Scoop for Dodge Dakota 05-UP
http://www.autotrucktoys.com/dodge_d...5102C1968.aspx

It only comes in certain colors or primed to be painted.

what material is that made out of. looks good but it would look even better if you could smooth it out where it meets the hood. and wow thats bolt on? thought it was like one of those stick ons. no offense, still looks good, just would look better if there is a way to mold the 2 together

It's pretty easy... all you have to do is cut the front opening of your hood scoop out. and then put some gutter guard or something like that in the opening, so no bugs and other stuff can get in there.

then I would cut a 4" round hole in the hood somewhere. I'm not too familiar with where everything is on the gen 3 dak. but you could run a hose from the hole in the hood to your air filter.

OR

get a 14" round open air filter and put it on top of your throttle body(unless yours are sideways) and make a box around it and seal it off to the hood.

OR

put a sheet of aluminum on the bottom of your hood. then you can cut a 4" hole in the aluminumat the front where you stock air filter is and run a hose down to it.

those are just some suggestions, maybe someone has a better idea.

also, dont forget to drill a small pin size hole in the front of the scoop to let water drain out. or else your scoop will fill up with water.
