Raced a ram today
It was an 06 1500 reg cab shortbed 4.7, raced him first from a light, I held it at about 1900 rpm and he held 1200 rpm, when the light went I spun like crazy but got a jump on him and put my tailgate at about where his front bumper was and stayed there. Next we did it from a 30mph roll, we both layed on it and I left him bad, almost as bad as when I race my buddy in his quad cab 06 cummins. lol. the 1500 and my truck are both basicly stock execpt exaust.
just look at the weight difference, your a light lighter with the 4x2 by about 400 lbs. and as far as racing a ctd. that must have been a wash out. these little trucks go, if you know how to tweak them correctly. and i just got my new mod from ups this friday. all i can say is it has 3 letters and they are abbreviated for something

Nah... much be one of them Throttle Body Spacers... lol.
I never understood why dodge puts the 4.7L in the Rams. They do carry about 15 more hp than ours, but, the truck, IMO is still too heavy for it.

I owned 2 GMCs full size, regular cab, long wheel base,4.3 V6sdid delivery work in both carried up to around 2,000 pounds in back a few times driving hundreds of miles on occasion, the motor pulled no problems, now if Ipulled a nice size trailer around often for long distances I would want a V8 minimum.
