Twice, I've had my Dakota (auto tranny) shut-off completely (no power whatsoever) while driving. The first time I didn't think much of it because I wasn't going more than 10mph in a parking garage, but the second time it happened I was driving 65-70mph on the highway (thankfully, I knew to pull over quickly before the break-down lane ended). Total power shut-off. Anyone have any suggestions?

 

same thing happened to me, i have the neck deal on my keychain...the reason i lost power - i accidently pulled it when reaching for something and it turned the key off. maybe u did the same?

 

No chance that happened. I wasn't reaching for anything, nor have the "neck deal" on my keychain. Thanks for your reply though.

 

what year is it? is there a "recall" or anything?

 

2006 with CCN module recall that was not fixed prior to the power shutting off.
