Well......it's a long story and gonna bore you all, but the Redline is going buh-bye real soon and I gotta start driving my Dakota again.

I drive 100 miles to school (4 days a week) & 50 miles to work (2 days a week)......and it's all freeway pretty much.

SO.....the 4.10 gears are going to be coming out of the truck & the 3.55's going back in.

Don't get me wrong....get great city mileage with the 4.10 gears, but I'm always running late and speeding to school and I think the 4.10 gears are gonna kill the mileage when you're doing 80+.

Anyways....they're Motive Gear 4.10 Ring & Pinion set......they're for the 9.25/12 bolt axle......6,000 miles on them.....and only been in the truck for one year. Only city driving & no burnouts or anything stupid like that.

I originally paid $220 SHIPPED for them

My g/f & I were living together and have been together for 6 years....I went back to school last fall and the truck wasn't gonna be worth it (gas WAS $3 a gallon back then)......so she leased the Redline for me to commute to and from school.

Well **** hit the fan and we broke up at the end of November.....so needless to say.....she wants the car back (I've just been milking it and giving it back in a week or two) and so it's back to the Dakota days again.

No worries though....I'm getting a "nice" tax return and I'm gonna put some money into the truck......stereo is going back in.....looking at the Flowmaster exhaust and probably the rear leveling shackles (which I had last year and then sold--dammit!)

So yeah.....gotta keep the truck for another2 years (39 month lease & got it in 10/05)....might as well work with what I got

My main goal is to save most of it though......just gotta buy the exhaust $225.....shackles $65.....and then pay for the gear swap

Then I'm just gonna throw my sub box from the Redline (2 JL 10W1v2's with my RF amp) in the Dakota for now and gotta re-hardwire my radar detector back in.

The truck has been sitting parked since August, and only has like 9,800 miles on it and it's 16 months old now.

Ah well.....I'm gonna be racking miles on it in no time though since school is so damn far

Ifthese gears fit my Dak, I'd be all over them. But I have the smaller 8.25/10 bolt rear end. Good luck with the sale though. Might try putting them on e-bay.

 

I got a couple people from the other forums that might be interested.....so I'll see what happens there first

I'm only looking to get like $120 for them....I think that's a reasonable price

 

Truck is at the Ring & Pinion shop right now and the gears are coming out as I type this!

So pics of the gears will be up tonight!!!

 

They literally look brand new still (minus a little oil on them) and are flawless (no chipped teeth or anything)!!

White specks are styrofoam on the ring gear (the guy at the shop put it in upside down)
