Club cab dakota
Hey guys. I have been having this problem since we bought the truck, it is a 2006 dodge dakota club cab 4x4 and the problem I am having is the rear doors sometimes will not open. The handle will feel like it is jammed but I took off the access cover for the locking mechanism and I couldnt find anything wrong, and I just couldnt get the handle to budge (pass. side only) So I took it back to the dealer because they owed me a detail and there was a small ding in the door that was there before I bought it that they said they would take care of, so I showed them the door and they said they would fix it. When I got it back it worked great, but the next week it started doing it again, but this time if you pulled really hard it would open and then work fine, now it only gets stuck ocasionally and you can pull it and it will open hard, but not as bad as when I first got it. About two weeks after it was at the dealer, the same thing started happening to the driver side door, they both will open but sometimes you have to pull really hard to get them open. I tried greasing the latching mechanism and such but it seemed to do no good, I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if it is really something that should be recalled, so far that is my only gripe on this truck besides the oil change (see my "oil change from hell" post) THANKS!!
Well I have taken it in once for that, and the dealer is about 80miles north of here in toledo, ohio and I dont trust the dealer here (tom ahl famlily of dealerships) they are a load of crap. Like I said it is not a big deal to me untill somthing breaks, but I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem because it is not like it is only one door, it is both. I would have checked it out before we bought it but we test drove a red one that was up on the lot and decided to go with the light blue one, it is alot rarer color so I didnt get to check it out totally.
take all the door panels back off and double check that you did not break the tabs off of the switches. if you did than the harness is probably falling away from the contact.

dude, you should do what i did. just weld them shut. nobody can fit back there anyway. it helps improve rigidity and reduces body roll in the corners. just think, next time you put the hammer down in that badass DAK, she'll just squat and go. instant performance mod.
