I prefer Royal Purple over Amsoil. Just my two cents.

Regular maintinance doesn't void warrenties. Using amsoil in the crank case which claims it lasts up to 7500 miles might cause warrenty issues since it is saying have a longer oil change than the manufacturer's recomended drain interval. If you are asked to produce receipts, some dealerships won't honor the warrenty. How many miles do you have on your truck?

Just do the tranny yourself. Drop the pan. It is easy. Let the motor cool all the way off. Undo the bolts holding the tranny pan to the tranny. Start with the front, then do the sides. As you start to take off the last bolts on the rear of the truck, fluid will start to come out. Get yourcatch-pan under it and continue to undo the bolts until they are all off. Let all fluid escape into the catch-pan until no more is coming out. Slowly lower the tranny pan to the ground, keeping it level. Drian the contents of the tranny pan into the catch-pan. (This alone should drop anywhere from 3-5 quarts of tranny fluid, which is most ofit anyway)(See below for optional step) Replace the filter with a new one (a new tranny pan gasket usually comes with the new filter), apply the new gasket, put the tranny pan back on and fill up your tranny fluid. Very easy. Shouldn't take you more than an hour. (20 minutes if you are pro like me )

Optional Step:
To get even more fluid out, after you remove the tranny pan and drain it, put it back on using the existing gasket, start the truck up (when cold) and cycle through all the gears 3 times. (P-R-N-D-2-1). Drop the tranny pan again and remove additional fluid. Continue as shown above.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I prefer to disconnect the line going back to the transmission from the transmission cooler (that way you get all the old fluid out of the torque convertor, lines, and cooler), and there is no mixing of the old fluid.

The main thing is just to do the service at least at the recommended intervails, if not earlier. Oh, and only use ATF+4!!
