Default RE: Fluid Change Questions trans/diff

All oil companies warranty their products just as the car manufacturer do. As long as you follow the oil manufacturers recommendations you will be fine, just keep maintenance records of what you have done. I use Amsoil oil and filters and only change my engine oil once a year. Amsoil warranties the oil for 35,000 miles or a year and the oil filter for 25,000 miles or a year. This will not void your warranty. If a dealer tries to imply this he simply is trying to scare you to make more money. Congress in 1975 enacted the federal Magnuson-Moss Act to regulate written consumer product warranties. An examination of the law reveals warranties remain intact when AMSOIL Synthetic Lubricants are used.

Also if a dealer requires a specific oil/fluid to be used then they are required by law (Magnuson-Mon Act) to provide that oil/fluid at no cost to their customers. You will notice that the manufacturers only recommend, not require what type of oil/fluid to use.
