Default exhaust tip

after seeing jimbos exhaust tip which he got at walmart, i have been inspired. i plan on picking one up today after my 2-315 class. on problem, theres NO chrome on my truck. im thinkin about scuffin it up a little with some sandpaper and paintin it. do i need a high-temp paint? also, what kind of black should i paint it? if i dont need a high-temp paint, will i be able to find a metallic black to match my truck, or should i just go with a hig-temp dull black, or a gloss black or what. help me out. its not like its gunna cost a whole lot, so if i dont like it its not a big deal. or, is there a way i can paint it to kinda be smokey like my wheels? thanks, any advice or works, good or negative, are welcome

Why not just powder coat it? It'll last longer than paint, since it'll chip when you pick up gravel.

I'm not sure how much something like that would cost. Call around, should be someone out there that can do it. I can't imagine it would cost all that much.

If I were you, I'd do it right the first time. It'll look way better than a cheap paint job.

i mean its temp by thats exactly what it is. its temp. ill look into exhausts later. is there a high performance exhaust from mopar? see if i did that, i would get that powdercoatedi know i want a quiet performance exhaust.

i test fit it and it fits good, need to trim the screws. its gloss black, it was pretty fresh at time of pics so it looks a little sparkley. painted with high-temp engine enamel. up to 500 deg. would have gotten 1200 deg for same price but that was only flat black, not gloss

i should have taken pics of the test fit when it was chrome, looked real good, just the screws are too long and they get a lil smaller toward the end. with the space between the tip and my exhaust (about .0000000001 cm) there is no room for the thread to catch bc the screw gets narrow, not to a point, but it narrows. if i cut the screw down, it will catch. i have no way to cut the screw till i go home this weekend, unless someone gives me a genius idea
