Snow drifts are fun

I took the truck out and beat on it a little today... There is a seasonal road up by my dads housethat is always drifted over. I wish i would have grabbed the camera, but I didn't plan on this little side trip. My cousin dared me to go down the seasonal road, his silverado didn't make it yesterday, but I decided to show him how to drive.
Snow was up to the hood, and his ruts didn't help, neither did my crap stock tires... but 4lo said snow is a biotch. after I plowed through it and back, he decided to try it again. I am still ragging on him about it... Wish I had my camera.
"snow flying everywhere... looked like a blizzard with tail lights. that things an animal." - My cousin.

Yeah, I helped him put a winch on his quad last night and he was coming up with excuses... his tires have low tred and crap... what a liar. hes just mad cuz I went through more snow than him... I was giving him some "s" for it. one of his friends couldn't believe it was true.
Yeah man the 4 Lo is awesome in the snow, I work at a golf course and we were out driving through the snow, clearing a path for 2wd trucks, and while making a turn got caught up in 4-hi, popped it in 4-lo and it took me like 2or 3 minutes but finally she just walked right out. But I got that path cleared.

Yeah, I wish I had a video camera. we got probably 4 inches of powder 2 nights ago, and it drifted pretty high blowing over a field into that one patch of road. his truck ran out of steam about 20 yards into this, getting hung up on harder packed snow from snomobiles. the worst part was his ruts, after that the snow was flying. I will have to get a pic of the place I am talking about... it is too fun. The thing that makes it cool is my cousins full size reg cab 99 silverado 4x4 didn't make it... I laughed at him when I pulled him out that night, and when he started saying that I wasn't going to make it I just laughed at him... He lost the bet and had to buy the beer last night.

Drifts are much fun indeed.... add in the mud from repeated passes and voila!!! You got one slippery run around on helluva big playground...
Where I work provides a pretty decent mud / snow opportunity. (Gravel stock yard for road cnstr.)
I had to find out if the lil ole Dak could run a mound of gravel... It can, did and still does... pretty nice run if you don't mind a mild incline on extremely loose gravel... Use 4Lo though, anything else gets you a free chain pull out... I wont mention the driver of the ford truck who tried that one..
Someday I will have to steal the wifes phone and get some pics of those piles... love em... GOD I LOVE EM!!!
And the mud... did I mention the mud... when it rains... it calls to us... soflty... sweetly.... "Come play" it says... and we do.... Hard...Did I mention its 200 acres? MWAHAHAHAaaaaaaaaa

haha thats awsome... the road I was talking about finally drifted shut this week... we went out today after I got back from the job/guard recruiter and snow was about 8 feet deep where this little hill is by the side of teh road... needless to say, nobody wanted to try to plow through that thing...
I really wish I woulda got the 4x4 now, my 4x2 sucked in the snow on the way to school today... I mean the snow wasn't that bad and the truck handled good, but I can forsee it getting stuck in bigger snows... anyway I might add its alot different driving a Manual Truck in snow than an auto sedan.
