Default 2005 4.7L Tranny Problems?

I have a 2005 Dakota4.7L 2WD. When I shift from park, a small clunk sound will happen, also when I shift in another gear a small whine, maybe 1 sec long will sound. Is this normal? Also one last question, I got Dual Flowmaster out the back, they angle after the rear wheel, when I turn on uneven pavement a loud sound from the rear happens, anyone know what this is?

as far as the exhaust goes, you might make sure that the pipes are not hitting the leaf springs making that noise. look for any signs of rubbing on the pipes.

depending on the mileage, the u-joint may need to be replaced or just tighten. and as far as the whine depending on the mileage it may need to go in for the tranny flush. recomened at 30000 miles. the exhaust hanger may have broken off and the exhaust is hitting the rear axle.

It only does it when I shift out of park into another gear. I shifts smoothly when I drive. It only has 22000 miles on it. Is it still under factory warranty? If so I'll take it into dodge on Monday.

Does yourDak have 'limited slip' in the rear end? If so, that could be 'clunk' you hear when you shift out of park or the sound you hear from the rear when you turn. It could be thelimited slip engaging/disengaging. Do you feel any 'wheel hop' when the sound comes from the rear? As for the small whine, I have no idea. Sounds like a trip to the dealer might be in order. You should have them check the rear end gears and limited slip when/if youtake it in.

of course it is 3 yr 36000 for stuff like the power window motor an crap and 7 yr 70000 mile for the engine trany and axles. had you got an 06 its just 3 yr 36000 mile for everything unless you purchased and extended warrenty
