better than stock- tires
Is it ok to get bigger tires on stock rims? any websites? my tires have 35,000 miles on them and i want something that looks better than orignal OEM without needing to get new rims as well. not super swamper but something with some ridge to it and maybe bigger? thanks

I saw some yokohama tires on an F-150 today that looked awsome...

I went with Chapparal (its made by Cooper) I got 3" oversized, 265/75-r16s. They gave the truck a 1.5" lift (side wall bigger) and they have a medium aggressive tred. There a Passenger tire though, so they max fill at 35psi and there a tad soft. Ive used them in dirt trails there pretty damn good. Only $75 a piece. Thats the main reason I got them, cheap.
In my opinion all the dakotas should of came from the factory with 265/75-r16 tires on the 16 inch rim. no rub, no clearance issues, the tire look great with the truck. I posted pics of them on the truck not to long ago.

I agree the AT TA KOs is great tires in every way. They came stock on my 06 TRX4 on Gray I and I miss them on Gray II. The Rugged Trails came stock on the 07 TRX4 and they are quieter than the TA ATs but far less of a tire. When it comes time to replace the stock tires they will be the BFG TA AT KOs. I also believe that BFG is owned by Michelin and I believe in the Michelin brand as being a safe griping and long lasting series of tires.

I see a lot of trucks around here running yokohama and hankook... I see more and more SUV's running the Goodyear "drawing a blank, not the assurance, the suv and truck tire..." with the tripple tread... I dont know though. I am a big fan of BFG. what do you guys think of the pirelli scorpions?
I had the same Goodyears on my 03 Silverado that come on the Dak. They really suck after about 30k. Replacedthem with Firestone Destination LE, all seasonhighwaytire. Excellent tire in the rain with 60k warranty around $92 last time I checked.I think I'll stick some of those on the Dakpretty soon.
