Default order shocks today

went to rory off road supply by my house and purchased the bilstein shocks for our trucks. he called bilstein direct to get the correct part number because the other ones dont jive. correct number is

BE5-2617

it is the same shock number for the 04. apperently dodge has the same frt end as the 04 and did not change anything until 07 price is 73.65 and for both it was 156.13. will have them monday morning

hmmm. that sounds kinda fishy....If you ask me, they don't know what they're talking about. You'll find out when they attempt to install these 04 Gen2-sized shocks.

I have to go alongwith bkjtimp. I researched this quite a bit and I don't think they are compatible with Gen3. If they did, wouldn't the different websites at which they are offered say so? When you get them let us know. Good luck.

from what bilstein said its the same shock but the numbers are diff. because of the dealer selling them. they have there own part numbers for cross reference.

They may be the same shock as the 04' durango? I thought the 04' Dak was the same as my old 01' Dak and it had a completly different style setup. I supose we could keep guessing but we will know for sure on Monday. I'm hoping they work, and thanks for taking the plunge (for all of us) to find out.

no kidding, frt ends suck...Have you ever noticed at some websites though they have systems that are available up to 03 Dakotas and then they dont list 04? I think one is Fabtech, I'm not sure. But I have seen in other places where they have things listed through 03, but after that the things change...

Heck, it's not just front shocksas we all know, but the whole aftermarket industry seems to treat Gen 3s as if we didn't exist.
