Mopar EVS alarm system

Mopar EVS alarm system
I have a 2006 Dakota R/T with a dealer installed EVS alarm and the darn thing sounds off after I unlock the truck with the remote about every 10th time I arm it. Works most of the time but 1 in 10 it goes off for no apparent reason. This is the EVS 1 unit that uses the regular keyless entry key that came with my truck. I only bought the truck 2 weeks ago and they put the alarm in a week later. Anybody else having problems like this?

Coder, when I bought my truck I had a remote start installed and it did the same thing. The installer forgot to enact some disarm function and when I would start it, sometimes the alarm would go off. You may have a similar thing with the upgraded alarm. I would question the installer.

hahahahaha the yellow R/T... I get it.
It sounds to me like a conflict someplace with the disarm and keyless. It unlockes the door, but doesnt disarm the alarm... Maybe they didn't program the unit right... I have had this happen with directed electronics alarms... it is usually some stupid setting deep in the units CPU

sounds like stephen grant has a part of his hacked up wifes body in your truck messing up the electrical system. there has to be away around the system features. what does the manual say?

you may need to unlock the system twice. once for the door and then once more for the alarm. my girls sister has an aftermarket set up in her 4 runner and she needs to do this or the alarm will go off.

Here is another thing, I set the transponder key to unlock all doors on the first press and the next time I unlocked the doors after the alarm set, the thing went crazy. It went off like 5 times and no matter what I did I couldn’t shut it off. I had to wait for it to time out, then enter the code on the key to set it back to unlock only the drivers door on the first press "default from the factory". Then it went back to working 9 out of 10 times, You would think this kind of stuff wouldn’t happen with a factory alarm.

sounds like a nice gremlin in the brain of the alarm... take it to a good dealership and tell them it is acting crazy. for the hell of it, set the transpoder key up like you had it so it is guaranteed to mess up when they try it...
the brain has something going on there.
