Has anyone had a cd get stuck in the cd player? That is what has happened to me and I can't get the thing out. Is there any trick to it. I push the eject button and nothing happens. I can still listen to the cd but the darn thing won't eject. Some guy at a car stereo place told me I would have to take the stereo out and then I could get to the cd, is that true? If I am going to take the stereo out then I might as well replace it. Thanks for your input or advice. Oh yeah, it is a stock stereo.

As far as a cd being stuck i had the same problem. I tried everything i could think of to get it out, and then i discovered how simple it was. For me all i had to do was disconnecrt the battery for a few seconds and let the cd player lose power then reconnect the battery which causes the radio to reset and then the cd came out like normal. Thats only happened to me once and since then the factory radio has been great.

Reset may solve it, The problem with factory headunits from any brand is form first function second... premium sound H.U.'s like infinity and alpine are nice because they dont power speakers, and allocate power to performing better. I would say a reset would be a great option though...
See in my Cirrus that I had before I got the Dak the Stock Stero was great, it had enough bass and power (for me) and it didn't really distort when you cranked it high...but it did just stop getting louder at some point before the **** stopped turning...the error correction on it was great...and that was 1999 car, but with this truck the sound gets distorted easily, and the CDs skip with just the slightest tiniest little scratches in them were the same CDs work fine on my home stero, computer, and old car stero...I just don't understand why...oh well I geuss I'll just have to break down and upgrade when I get the money...
Hey Guys, thanks for the suggestions on how to get the cd unstuck. Well, I tried everything and the cd is still stuck so I guess it is off to get a new stereo. Any suggestions on a good stereo to get for the Dakotas. I have always liked Alpines. How's the High Def stereo sound? Thanks again.

Well HD radio is not good around here. its the same a regular radio, but with more commercials. Gotta love them High def commercials. I will stick with my XM... Better sound and much less commercials on my favorite channels...
As far as a nice stereo goes. I always lean toward Alpine, Clarion and Eclipse. But I am powering a system so i need clean signal to the amps. Pioneer radios are durable and so are kenwoods.
