Carrol Shelby went from Ford to Dodge to Ford and the occasional Dodge since the 60's. I'm not surprised that he did a Durango since he did a Dakota in the 80's.
The Dakota wasn't all that fancy or high performing. I think that's where dodge got the idea of putting a V8 into the Daks.

Yep, that's correct. He did a bunch of performance models, mostly turbo's in the 1980's for Dodge. Great little cheap pocket rockets at the time. He was also part of the group directly responsible for the creation of the Dodge Viper...in fact....if I'm not mistaken, he was one of the main people who helped create it.

Shelby was never a "Ford" guy....that was merely who gave him the chance to work his magic. Had either Dodge or Chevy been smart enough to do the same......as it was..... Chevy had a guy like Yenko to do their performance...


You'd see more Dakotas in the running if more of you helped out in both nominating and voting. You got to get your photo galleries up, and make sure you are an active person on the board. Dont need to be a postwhore, just get 5-6 posts on the board every month.

We dont care if your ride is plain jane or super modded, because it's what the voters like that will win. I've seen a Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo (completely stock) beat a Dodge Viper R/T, so dont think because you have a stock ride you cant win.
