Default slow to rev question

I noticed that after my wife drives the truck for several days that it is slow to rev when I nail it the first time. It revs slowly to about 4k then just comes to life like opening a 4bbl carb. After I get on it a few times it will come to life right away. Is this from the transmission brain or do you think its some thing else? Anyone experience this?

Your truckECU learns how you drive so there is your answer.

this is one of the reasons people are having trouble with their trucks. every once and awhile i will manually go through the gears im my dak .this will keep the pcm the way it is driven. something to do with the programs. if you ever feel a difference. take it out on a back road and go throught the gears. it will be a big diference next time you drive it

Its an 06' with 3500 miles on it now. I only drive it on weekends if running around local, my wife uses it local otherwise. I commute 70 miles round trip each day so I drive the car for that. I noticed this before and after I ran it a few times with the pedal on the floor it would come back to life. It will leave a couple of nice scratch marks as the BFGs sream in resistance.
My 01' never was slow to rev but I also drove it every day when my commute was only 30 miles round trip, I also had a muffler and air cleaner ugrade on it. Maybe I will have my wife boot it while running around. Thoughts?

I've noticed this too. If i drive more conservatively for a couple of days then nail it it takes forever to go past 4k on the rpm's but if I nail it a few times at stop lights then nail it about the third time it jumps almost straight to red line and gives me a good push back in my seat. That's why I try to nail it at least once a day lol.

They need a sport mode for the ECU then we could disable its cushy side...until then we will just have to give it a little daily love.

I too have the tow package.
Eric I wonder if the jet controller you have fixes this. I have the HO motor and it says it will run on 87 but recommends 92 for peak performance. I run premium in it all the time. The motor is supose to have dual knock sensors in it so that it can dial back the advance if needed with lower octane. With this system it may retard the ignition if it isn't needed where a chip may keep it advanced all the time. I have an intake comming and hopefully next month an exauhst, maybe they will change this.
