Posi, as said before is a GM trademark for their limited slip diffs. Trac-loc is FoMoCo and Sure-grip is Mopar. ALl do the same thing but use different names. Nowadays its easier for them to just use Limited slip or anti-spin.
BTW when you hook the trucks up, be sure to toss a heavy tarp over teh center of the chain/strap incase it snaps.
A locker would be a pain in the ***... corners would totally suck.
Yeah, I've seen guys tack weld their spider gears together on older cars. This is the old-school way to change an open diff to one that works like a locker diff for drag racing. That would only last for a few drag runs because that weld snaps after a few turns. Not to mention how much the rear-end hops and the noise it gives off when they turn.
I cant imagine running a locker... My dads old plow truck came with a detroit locker in it, and untill we could get it switched out, it would hop around corners... totally sucked to plow driveways with. Parking lots were ok though, and that was its original purpose... but still... any sharp-ish corner... hop hop hop hop.... annoying as hell.
