Fastest gen 3 Dakota

you're right, it is a personal preference....and i didn't mean to offend (if i did) saying that i didn't like the front end...to be honest, i really had to warm to the Dakota's front end, too...though i love it now.
i've only ever seen one Raider out there...right near the college that i work at, i used to see one a lot of nights on my way home...though it has been awhile since i've seen him.
here's a random question for you....is Mitsu making any changes to the Raider for '08, like Dodge did to the Dakota?

I'm not sure what they have planned for '08. I do know that for the '07 model they have taken away the 4.7 option and they are strictly going with the 3.7. I'm so very glad that I got mine when I did. If I couldn't have the V8 I would either be driving a Dak or a Tacoma.

I'm just givin you crap the japs make some nice cars and trucks, but I'm a Dodge guy, and I always have been, I really love the dodge styling and their signature crosshair grille.

Actually I am a GM guy and probably always will be. I've just been exploring my other options for the last few years. I figure with this truck I get to keep trying Mitsu (since they treated me very well on my last car) and a new Dodge all at the same time. I actually just sold my '76 PowerWagon because it was just sitting there. I didn't want to let it go but it was time. That thing was a hoss and it just kept on going. I will not ever own a Ford in my life though! That is unless a Shelby Mustang GT500 is given to me!
i think that Toyota is actually getting the same or just slightly better reliability than Dodge. If you look over the past year or two, Toyota has actually recalled many more cars and has suffered from quality issues moreso than Chrysler/Dodge.
Yeah I don't personally care for Ford, I like old mustangs, new Shelby GT500's, and the Ford Lighting...thats it, and they won't be making the lighting again for a couple of years...although I have to say I'm startin to like the RAM SRT-10 a hell of alot more than the F-150 SVT Lightning...I still like the curvy smothness of the SVT though...but...I mean...who can say no to something called an SRT-10...lol
The biggest thing that I like about Toyota is that their resale value is off the hook.
The only reason I wouldn't want an SRT-10 is because I would baby that thing and I really just need a truck that I can use as a truck.

Yeah I know what you mean, this is my first car that I am actually paying for...well rather, owing for because I can't afford the payments with tuition at LTU, and its my second car...that I picked and I wanted...and well to put it simply its my baby...and I don't want to hurt her...so yeah I'm babying my truck as it is right now.
That is one nice benefit of a Toyota.
I'm more of a Mopar/GM guy. Not a Ford fan at all. Prior to my Dakota, I always owned GM, but still liked Dodge...and was always impressed that my dad was able to get 258,000+ miles out of his old Ram 50. Never had a GM last that long. When my GMC crapped out, I figured it was time to give something else a shot...so here I am.
You're right, an SRT-10 would be totally sweet, yet unbelievably impractical.

ok, now befor the flames start... the only foriegn truck I would own is the Nissan Titan. My Grandfather has one, and it flat out smoked my brothers Ram Hemi Sport... Plus the Titan weighs slightly less.
I dont really care. My next truck will probably be a Ram... kinda depends on what my needs are at the time, Like the 1500's.

i looked at the Titan--briefly. it's a really nice truck...it really is. to be honest, it was more truck than i needed, plus i'd heard that a lot of people had reliability problems with them, which kinda turned me off to them.
i actually gave serious consideration to a Frontier though....i just couldn't talk them down in price as much as i could Dodge...i got a better equipped truck from Dodge for over $1000 less.
my next one will probably a Ram too...way down the road, though...gotta pay this one off first.
