Its that time of year again

Well, for those of us who live in the northern parts of the country, its spring cleaning time again. I figured that as long as I was going to be pulling everything out of my truck and deep cleaning carpets... I would do a little product review for those who are also thinking about doing the same.
The products that I will be using are cheaper than the professional stuff that you will find at detail shops, but from the reading I have done they seem to work out alright.
Product #1 Turtle wax OXY Power Out! professional strength carpet cleaner. (containing Odor-X)
Product description:
Turtle wax OXY Power Out! carpet cleaner is formulated with OXY cleaningtechnology to deep clean, deodorize and protect carpetingin your car, truck and boat. Its hard working foam lifts out ground-in stains while restoring yourcarpet to its original color. Works great on all colors. Formulated with Odor-X to encapsulate and eliminate odors caused by cigarette smoke, pets, food, mildew and more.
ok, so that sounds good, but does it work?
the directions read:
General Cleaning: Vacuum loose dirt from surface. Shake well and spray evenly ontocarpet. Rub foam into carpet with bristle cap or sponge untill foam disappears. Wipe area with a clean cloth or vacuum dry.
I am choosing to vaccum, as I dont think a cloth will lift any debris as efficiently. I amalso not using the bristled cap... it looks cheap... and I managed to break a few of the bristles off on the way home while it was in the bag.

So I am using this multi purpose brush.

since I have yet to use this, I will write a follow up when I am done with the truck... I am heading out the door now to do it. So expect a follow up this afternoon.

i did a nice exterior wash yesterday...well...honestly...i took it to the car wash and had them do it (i was a bit busy!).
check it out...i took some pictures yesterday and posted it in my gallery. i know, it took me long enough to get some up...
i'll have to get to the interior sometime soon. it needs a good vacuuming, window washing, dusting....

fyi, for those of u who have scuff markes on clear plastics such as headlamps, fogs, taillights ect or their foggin up. hit it up with some of meguiars scratchX......i use it all the time. my dads f250s headlamps were fogged and taillights were scuffed real bad, both looked as if they were needing to be replaced as if they sat in a junkyard for years. hit it up for a few minutes on each with scratchX and now everything looks out of the box brand new....actually, i detailed his whole truck inside and out...spent a little over 7 hours on with not including 1 35 minute break and a few short water breaks....it hadnt been detailed since it was taked off the lot years ago...now the whole thing looks brand new. i should have taken pics....anyway, with this review deal, thought i would tell u about ScratchX

OK, so I just got done... I didn't take any befors. I kinda wasn't thinking about it untill you mentioned it. I did grab some afters... the truck looks like new now. (minus a couple of small stains that will need some major work...)
My verdict is this... it is worth the 5 bucks that it costs. The smell is god awful. I threw a bandana on my face when I sprayed this stuff. my major problem was salt stains/buildup. it took some work on the salt buildup with the shop vac, but they came up. no more salt stains. I have tried a lot of stuff on the salt, and this is the cheapest one to remove them on the first try... I say give it a shot, befor taking your truck in for shampoo/steam...
I am sorry the pics dont show much, but its too sunny out to get good ones... I think it looks atleast 100% better...
After shots...

ok, I know they suck... take it easy on me...

yeah, blue coral is a bit pricey around here... I usually use a mix of simple green and water, but I hate the smell of that stuff... I am not a huge fan of this either though... oh well. it worked out good, and its nice and clean again...

a little trick. after cleaning, get a spray bottle full of water and a relatively thin brush. lightly squirt the water on the carper/headliner ect and brush one line in one direction and another line the opposite way. once you get good (its harder to get a straight line than you think) it looks VERY sharp and VERY clean....

The only problem I have is my mats... they never come clean like the carpet. I pressure washed mine last night, and they still look dingy. any Ideas? (this is for those who detail for a living... I would really like the advice.
