Default Media Center (730/430/430N) on 2011 Citadel

Hello, all.

Looking at Dodge's website for building my own Citadel, there isn't an option for selecting a Media Center.

In the "Build My Own" section, they say that the 730N is "Included" and there's no additional cost on a Citadel. There isn't any option for selecting any other stereo/navigation/media center.

Now what's confusing is that I own a Citadel and I compared the picture of the 730N on the internet to what's in my truck and they don't match. What I have in my Citadel is a 430 (not a 430N).

I'm confused about that because there is no option to even select a 430 or 430N for a Citadel, and the 730N is listed as standard equipment on a Citadel. Why don't I have a 730N?

One of the benefits of having a 730N over the 430 is that there's voice command navigation while driving on the 730N. With the 430, you have to come to a complete stop before you can type an address into your GPS.

Either I got screwed or the website is not correct.

You neither got screwed NOR is the website incorrect.

Early Citadels all had 430s. Now, they are getting 730s. That simple. Once the 730s are gone, they will all get something else yet again. Both the 430 and the 730 are somewhat dated.

Here is the same question and resolution we were able to deduce directly from Dodge:

I drove a 2011 Durango Citadel AWD today. I was surprised as it had the 430N (RHB) radio in it (instead of the 730N). Even further, on the window sticker it shows that it comes with the Sirius/XM Traffic link subscription...that's rather difficult on a radio that doesn't have that capability.

Sadly, it's a deal-killer for me (knowing all of the issues that the 430N has had regarding bluetooth streaming and connectivity with iPhones). I'll have to keep looking for a unit that is equipped properly. I'm splitting hairs, I know, but for $40K+, I think I'm entitled to do that.

FYI, this car had a June '11 build date.

New Member Here - Hi everyone...

I have a 2011 Crew RWD and the 430N (RHB). I do in fact have Sirius/XM Radio and Traffic Link. I have had no issues with Bluetooth Streaming Media. I read about the iPhone issues and a software update to take care of those however I have a Blackberry so I can't speak to those issues...

Only difference that I can find is the lack of voice control for the Nav system...

Just thought I would let you know.

I just picked up my Citadel with the 430N last week...dealer was really not a big help with Travel Link...called Sirius, the verified I had it and recommended getting a disk from dealer to update. After much frustration, I downloaded my own disk from the Jeep Forum and voila, I now have Travel Link and may even be a certified Dodge Tech now!

Sorry, I was on vacation this week. I was also surprised to find the official update cd in the mailbox when I got home. Better late than never! The update takes about twenty minutes. Just follow the onscreen prompts. Do not give up when the screen turns black, it is working. Ignition must be in "on" position with nothing plugged in to USB. Good luck all!

So if you already have Travel Link working, and your radio is up to the right version, do you still need to install this disk? What else does it give you?

Just got my update disk today for the travellink update. Just like the instructions say, it took about 20 minutes. I'm a little disappointed that the gas prices from travellink aren't integrated with the NAV "find gas stations" option. It'd be nice to do everything in NAV instead of having to back out of it, go into travellink, find a gas station, then click Go and then have to go back to NAV. I know it's petty, but it would have been a nicer design.

On a different note, does anyone know if PS3's or whatever can be connected to the backseat tv?

Also, anyone know of something to enable viewing video or entering NAV addresses WHILE driving? I hate having to stop when my wife could be entering info while I'm driving.

So what type of functionality or other upgrades did you gain by putting this patch on? Was your radio back-level, and if so what were you missing?

I haven't done this with a PS, but I've plugged in other composite video inputs (a video camera) and it works great.
