3000 Miles.

If it is a Citadel or Crew Lux, the dealer will do it for free.

Default Oil Change

Just had mines (Citadel) changed at 3200 miles strangely the dealer tried to charge me for the service. After I explained that the Citadel comes with free service for 36k miles/3 years the charge was removed.

Thanks guys. Does this free service only apply to oil changes or other services also?

ALL services. ANYTHING in the manual for on going service during the first 36 months and it's covered.

I was told that the service is free as long as you follow the service schedule, every 8K miles like the service schedule recommends. getting it changed prior to that I can see why they would try to charge you.

I was planning on just doing it myself, i dont know why the manufactures dont recommend this to more people. Clean out the engine of all those minute shavings and debris from manufacturing.

My Durango is scheduled for its first oil/lube maintenance today since I bought it....can't remember if tire rotation is part of its first scheduled service. Did the dealerships done yours on the first maintenance visit?

Check your recommended schedule of maintenance in the manual. That is what they will go by.

All,

If scheduled maintenance was included with your vehicle purchase through Dodge, then you should have received a set of plan provisions from Chrysler Service Contracts that outline what services you should get and at what intervals. If you didn't receive this it is possible you are still on file but they got lost in the mail. If this is the case then the dealer will still be able to perform your services and bill Chrysler for the service.

If you believe you qualified for these services and did not receive anything you can PM me your VIN and I will check to make sure you are on file and send you another copy. You can also check yourself by going to Servicecontracts.Chrysler.com and entering your name,VIN, and mileage.

Lastly, if you would like to find out about LOF (lube-oil-filter) plans from your dealer ask the service adviser the next time you are in there. Many of these plans will provide you with LOF for $15 per visit or less.Sometimes as low as $10 depending on how many you buy. Diesel and synthetic are more but if you take your vehicle to the dealership for oil changes you may as well save some money by buying them in advance. Ask the adviser if they offer Essential Care Plans. They will know what you are talking about.

Just to clarify an earlier post, if you are given a specific amount of services you can use them at anytime as long as the plan is not expired. The plan may specify that you get 2,4, or 6 oil changes, once you use them that is it. Some people still believe in changing the oil every 3k miles and once they use their allotment up no more will get paid. Unfortunately, if you have not used all the services and it is expired by time or mileage whatever you have not used will be lost. Many of these plans expire by time and usage only so it is important to have your paperwork and know your criteria so you don't lose out.

Sorry for the long winded explanation, but having seen so many customers having plans that provide maintenance and they rarely or never use them seems like a waste to me. May as well use them if you have them.
