Looks good Red Demon. I'd love to see the badges on the back. Trying to decide whether or not to just remove them.

Greetings...

I finally got around to upgrading the factory roof rack to something a bit more secure for carry gear.

I was able to easily remove the factory rack and rails. This revealed (6) aluminium studs the length of each rail, each with center taps for m6 metric screws.

In order to fit a Rhino rack kit, I made a spacer rail from oak, so that the Rhino rack rails could sit flat and flush on top and mount to the (6) factory rail studs.

I was then able to fit my safari rack to the rails using 3 cross bars making for a very solid set up.

Below are some pics of the rack with (3) kayaks. Let me know if you have any questions about the custom rack install. It was really quite easy.

I would get a clear bra for the area where the rubber touches the hood. Other than that it is a neat idea.

Looks awesome Wash Man. It seems petty but it's the one mod that I am having the most issues with. Red, black, remove completely. I'll probably decide a few months before I trade it in (a few years down the road).

But that's the beauty of it. Can of black Plastidip only cost $7 or so and took about an hour to do. If you don't like it, you just grab an edge and peel it right off. You can try it in black and red for 14$
