Default Sirius Traffic??

Our window sticker says our Citadel comes with one year subscription to Sirius traffic. After reading some other posts it seems like that is not possible since I appear to have the 430N Nav system which does not have traffic?? What is the story?? Our's was built in June.

I have mine working (Sirius radio, Back seat TV, Travel Link & Traffic) but after calling my dealership several times coz' Sirius tried to screw me on this service sending me several notifications that my free subscription service was only good for 3 months and was about to end...told the dealership they need to fix this and per their brochure specs and window sticker it includes the 1 year free Sirius radio & traffic (not sure about the Travel Link and Back seat TV but somehow they may have included/extended it and set to expire for 1 year at the same time with my sat radio & traffic)

Ours is a June build, as well, and has the same issue. I'm not sure if they ran out of 730Ns or what, but we have chosen to live with the lack of traffic since I really prefer the Garmin NAV to the one on the 730N.

Then again, I'd still love to have the traffic capability, but it isn't a deal-breaker for me.

Definitely a toss up. I also prefer the Garmin nav :-) , but miss the traffic :-(

So has anyone gone to Chrysler about this? Seems kind of crappy that they would put it on the sticker and then not have it. We bought a 2011 Citadel that has the 430 and sure enough says Sirius Traffic on the sticker.

Does Sirius Traffic do anything with the Garmin units now? I had it with my 2008 Charger and it never caused the GPS to reroute around the congestion.

Vehicles manufactured by Chrysler Group LLC which are equipped with a Media Center

The two groups and the policy for updating Travel Link™ for each group are identified

Group 1
2011 (WK) Jeep® Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with a Media Center 430N

subscription to SiriusXM™ Travel Link™ service. The radio in the vehicle does not
have the correct software to operate the SiriusXM™ Travel Link™ features.
• Owners will have a software update CD mailed to them to update their radio’s
software.
• Owners will receive an additional 1-year subscription (beyond the original

• For unsold vehicles in this category, the customer will receive a Travel Link™
upgrade CD as part of their SiriusXM™ welcome kit.
• Customers will be instructed to contact the Chrysler Help Center at (800) 247-9753 if
they encounter any issues while performing the update.
• Customers’ Travel Link™ service will be active and remain active for the duration of
their factory loaded 1-year SiriusXM™ Satellite Radio subscription.
• Labor Operation 95-08-20-05 has been created to aid dealers in providing update
assistance to customers requesting help from their dealership. This labor operation
reimburses a $15.00 flat fee to the dealership. A skilled technician is not required to
perform the customer assistance under this labor operation.
NOTE: Dealers may order MOPAR part number 68141133AA to have a Travel Link™
update disk on hand if desired. This same disk may be used to service

All well and good, thank you. But Travel Link does not include Sirius Traffic.

Not even sure what the Sirius Traffic function is supposed to look like. Upon first look I thought it would be a layout of the roads along with the green, yellow, red, black coloring for traffic as is on all other traffic apps. Mine just has a text list of potential "traffic" in the whole general area. LAME! So its useless and I never bothered asking about it. Am I missing something???

On my 2008 Charger (when I had the service) Sirius Traffic does exactly that; it overlays the color codes on the roadways AND displays a list of incidents/accidents that you can review. It wasn't bad, but it's only available in large metro areas (Like DC) and has such a time lag that you are going to hit traffic before something gets reported and then downloaded. You're not missing out on much.
