When I bought my 05 Grand Cherokee I went with the V-6 to save some money, both in annual gas and sticker shock. Stepping out of a 97 GC with the 5.2 I could not stand the V-6. That thing could not get out of its own way! Granted, todays V-6 is 290/260 compared to 210/235 but the D is also a bit bigger than the GC. I am sure the new V-6 is greatly improved, but I can also promise you I hated the V-6 and lost more on trading it in because I hated it than I would have by paying the extra fuel cost of the V-8. Never again, will I do that, thats why there are two HEMI's in my driveway...
