If you have the FACTORY tow package the plug should be there (I don't have photos), but if you just have a dealer installed or aftermarktet hitch you will have to splice into the wiring harness and run a lead through the firewall to set it up. The dealer wired mine but it wasn't cheap.

Since this thread is called Brake Controller, who uses which one and why? I am going to look at the Tekonsha P3. What does everyone think about those.

Default Brake Controller

I have an '11 crew w/factory tow (V-6). My surge brakes are activated/free to operate when boat trailer is hooked up to vehicle. I tried backing up a slight incline once and did not have the connection made to vehicle and the trailer brakes locked up and would not allow me to back trailer. This is how I use the 7 pin system for my application.
