Hey folks,

I installed a Volant CAI on my 2011 R/T. FYI, it is not a totally sealed box, the side is open next to the fender. It does utilize the fresh air intake though. Not noticeably louder, maybe a slight improvement in MPG, unable to determine HP improvement.

@noseeum, When your accelerating is it louder then stock or about the same? Also you never want a totally sealed box because then it would never get air and would cause a vacuum .

And if you don't mind me asking what did you pay for it?

Switchblade906,

Yes it's slightly louder when you do a full throttle acceleration. Roger that on a totally sealed airbox. Unlike the stock airbox that is sealed except for the fresh air intake, the Volant also has the fresh air intake in the stock location, but the side next to the driver's side fender is open. I paid 327.99 for autoanything.com.

Damn now I'm second guessing the Volant. I would like it to be a little louder as I'm trying to stay away from changing the exhaust. Love the dyno of the K&N but don't like the fact that there is absolutely no heat shield. Guess that brings me back to old faithful, the Air Aid!

I hate that the Air Aid costs almost the same but doesn't come with the intake tube...

It looks to me like the K&N has a heat shield....

a CAI isn't going to make your vehicle "louder" as you are desiring. Start looking at your muffler/resonator.

To answer the earlier question, I paid #327.95 from autoanything.com. I also installed a BSM resonator eliminator kit, a little loud at first but after a week, I have grown used to it.

Even if i doesn't make it a little louder (and I'm only talking about louder when full throttle) i want one anyways lol And if i still want more sound ill remove the rear most resonators.
