Default Sound always Horn With Remote Key Lock, but i turn it off

i have a problem with the lock horn.
i don't want that the horn always honk when i lock the door.
i make all this, from the manual - its not working.

This feature will cause the horn to chirp when the doors are locked with the RKE transmitter or the Passive Entry feature. The horn chirp feature can be turned on or off.
i want to turn the sound off. i make this:
Horn with Remote Lock.
When this feature is selected, a short horn sound will occur when the RKE transmitter LOCK button is pressed. This feature may be selected with or without the “Flash Lamps with Lock” feature. To make your selection, press and release the SELECT button until a check-mark ap- pears next to the feature showing the system has been activated or the check-mark is removed, showing the system has been deactivated.

its not working, it is always on.
can somebody help me? (sorry for my bad english - I'm swiss.)

I think on export models the setting on the evic doesn't work or isn't there. I had this problem. Sorted it with the remote. I think this is the way I did it.

hold the lock button for at least 4 seconds (but less than 10). While still holding the lock button, press and hold the panic button. Release both buttons together

I'm going to try this tomorrow.

The "Horn with Remote Lock" position mentioned in the manual is simply not shown on my "export vehicle"'s EVIC...

Joining this forum today will have already been a great move if this works, as the horn on remote locking is driving my wife and I crazy!

Good luck. Just looking at your stable of vehicles...could you post links to some pics of them? They sound great.

There are some here – though not all of these are or were my cars.

I'll try to cancel the horn with remote lock tonight...

It worked!

Thank you for that, dougieb2

Though why the "Horn with remote locking" option is simply not in the EVICs of export vehicles is beyond any sane argument.

And how on earth anyone could work out the solution is beyond me too.

Chrysler need a firm boot in the rear for this stupidity!

You're welcome.

I didn't work it out. I read it somewhere a long time ago when I had the exact same problem on my previous car, a 2nd generation Durango.
