Continental CrossContact Tires in Snow?
Yes I second getting a set of take off's 18's should be able to be had for a good price from someone upgrading to bigger wheels. If they are selling both wheels and tires they should still have the TPMS in them so it's a win win.
You don't say what type of CC's you have. There are several. The ultra high performance is a summer tire, and you shouldn't venture out in the snow in it. There is a winter version which would obviously be just fine. Then there are M&S versions that fall somewhere in between. With those, you are unlikely to get stuck anywhere, particularly in a vehicle with the weight and 4x4 capabilities of the Durango. Now if you plan on foreging through the snow and ice on a regular basis, maybe you want the winter version. But (depending on where you live) the occasional wrath of mother nature should not require changing tires back and forth unless you crave summer rubber in the summer. That said, even with winter tires on, you still have to drive responsibly. No matter the rubber, you can still get yourself stuck, slide off the road, or hit something/body if you don't respect the conditions and the ultimate limits of any tire. But if you are a typical suburban driver, in the 90% of the US that gets the occasional snow storm, an M&S tire should serve you well in all 4 seasons, and you'll continue to have to worry more about "the other guy" than yourself.
