Default First Impressions

Read a lot of the posts on this and other forums before buying one.
Here are my first toughts.

Had a heck of a time finding the vehicle with the options and pricing I wanted. AWD, V6, Color (still didn't get that), tow, Crew Conv, 730N, leather, 20" wheels. Found one in portland and went to pick it up this weekend. I live in Phoenix so it's a 1300+ drive. Prior to buying I had rented one fo a weekend and put 400 miles on it to see if it would work out, power and gas mileage wise.

Picked up the durango at the dealer, did the paperwork and was on my way. They were staightforward. Amazing, but true. No changes, no presuure to buy anything else. The extended warranty was mentioned , once, and never again. So one of my better dealer experiences.

Had to fill up the tank before leaving. Averaged 21.5(per the EVIC) and 20.5 with simple math. Speeds for the first 500 I kept below 65 and varied, to give the engine a chance to seat properly. Then averaged between 70-85 mph. Not bad for a AWD new engine.

No shake at any speed.
Good power for a V6.
Did not hunt for gears. Climbed hills in 4th, rarely had to drop into 3rd. Cruise on at 80 going up some mountain passes.
Luv the rain sensing wipers Took a while to figure out that they turn the lights on and then the Nav goes to night-time mode.
No so luving the smart lights. Bright signs turn off the high beams on the interstate.
Stereo sound is good, not great, but it might be the settings to get the proper mid and his to seperate.
No tint on the upper part of the windshield.
even at the lowest dim setting on the lights the shift lights are very bright.
WOW some impressive buffetting with the rear windows down.
Sunroof has built in wind deflector that kept the wind noise down.
Great brakes!
Very tight feel cornering. Did a couple round-abouts, and it felt like it was planted on rails.
seats felt good for that long of a drive. Had a 20 min nap and the drivers seat goes back further than any other vehicle I have owned.
No rattles or squeaks. +1 on that Dodge.

Only thing I have noticed is a blemish on the drivers fender in the paint. little smaller than a dime, under the clearcoat. I think I can live with it.

2012 Pilot EX-L 4WD
2008 Yukon
2006 Yukon
We also have a 2006 Pilot 4WD that has plenty of power. Not sure what they did to the 2012, but I only kept it for 2 months.
