+1... I believe they use a pontiac g8 unit for the rango.

ordered mine last week...no notice if it shipped yet,
I'm getting anxious!!

Was initially going to try and mod/fit a GM sharkfin from my old trailblazer SS, always loved the look of that one, and the placement was very shark-like! (front of the roof)

but the VG one looks damn good too and as a bonus its painted (the GM is just ABS plastic)

To me, the real advantage of the Shark fin is that it looks like you can put stuff on the roof rack without the antenna getting in the way.

Is the Shark Fin antenna any shorter when installed compared to the stock antenna?

When I asked they told me:

The approximate dimensions of our shark fin is 6.5"L x 4"W x 2.5"H.
That ought to be under anything on the roof rack. Those cross bars stand up pretty high.

Much shorter, I'd be ok with saying anywhere between 3-4 inches.

I just received my VG Sharkfin antenna that I ordered for my wife's TDI Passat. Depending on how it works after I install it, I will probably order another for the Durango. I'll get some close up shots of the install if anyone is interested.
