MGP Caliper Covers Installed!

Understandable and I agree my first instinct was the silver with black engraving but after talking to the guys at MGP they convinced my on the red and I have zero regrets on my choice!

Anyways ...
If you look around the forums at threads about caliper covers you see a love/hate relationship. Some folks think they look great and some folks really are offended by them and think they are the downfall of modern civilization and the American way of life. It is really quite amusing.
I used to think they looked ricer and to some they still do. I think what changed my mind on them was that it was not about being a poseur but just dressing up crappy looking stock calipers when running bigger than stock rims.
I am not a faker, pretender or deceiver. To me caliper covers don't look like a big brake kit as anyone who knows anything about cars could immediately tell they are covers. I am not putting brembo logos on them either. I don't want big brakes honestly. I don't plan on autocrossing my D or doing any 100' 60-0 emergency stops.
I find it interesting how folks can be so adamantly against them as if they are personally offended by their existence. I mean almost all auto manufacturers have been making engine dress up covers, chrome coated plastic trim, fake wood panels and trim, automatic shifters that look like manual shifters, plastic wheel covers that look like aluminum 5-spoke rims, enlarged exhaust tips (even fake ones on the high-priced Lexus ISF) and fake/non-functional brake ducts, gills, side scoops (the muscle car era was particularly guilty here) and useless spoilers (even on econo cars) for many years. These additions have nothing to do with performance and everything to do with appearance.
Ripping on caliper covers is like dating a girl with fake *****, heavy makeup and dyed blonde hair who wears a girdle and high heels and complaining about her eyelash extensions because they make her a wannabe and a faker :-)

I got mine this week. I'll install them and the viper replicas when I get the Durango next week.

I'm looking at getting Caliper Covers now. I swear with my new wheels all I can see, sometimes, is that ugliness behind the wheels. So, I have to get new Caliper Covers. The challenge I am having is finding either a blue'ish purple color or pink. MGP doesn't seem to have either color available for the 2012 Durango. I checked CarID.com and they resell them, but I'm not certain I can get this color combo either. MGP will match the body color of my vehicle. But, as dark as my Durango is, I really think I want something that pops, not blends in.
