Default Highway gas milage

Had our Hemi Durango since Dec. and finally took our first road trip.It was an all highway 565 mile trip , observed gas milage according to evic was 19 mpg.I was hoping for better but speed was between 75 and 80 with cruise set so I guess it ain't so bad. Also forgot to mention its an AWD with mileage at 6k. The D is a great cruiser and the Hemi gets you around the slow traffic pretty darn good!!!!

I have managed to get over 22mpg on a couple of trips with my Hemi 2WD durango (milage 4k). I noticed Premium fuel 93AKI makes a difference as well as keeping speed below 75.

I'm curious to see what my Hemi would do on a nice highway roadtrip!

According to computer, we average 22-22.5 with our RWD Hemi on regular unleaded averaging 65-75 with adaptive cruise set.

Im sure the AWD makes a difference plus my wife drove half way and I was in back seat not realizing her speeds were ,let's just say faster than 80, so 20 to 22 mph is possible.I also may try 93 octane but not ready to just yet, I save that for the challenger.

Not sure if this is for Hemi folk only, but for comparison sake, AWD, V-6 crew with 500 miles on the clock got 23.5 MPG on the EVIC doing 75MPH.

I have a 2 hour round trip daily commute and have gotten as high as 22.4 verified with actual gas log (there is an app for that!) with my 2012 Hemi Citadel at 3K miles on the clock. This was with adaptive cruse control and averaging around 70 mph. Now under, shall we say, "sportier" driving it is around 17.5 mpg.

My '11 AWD V6 Express got the best highway mileage yet, 25.64 mpg measured by full tank at start and top off at he end. 216.2 miles on expressway in michigan rolling 65-72 avg @ 70 and a 50 mile run thru the country at 60, no A/C, filled up with 8.432 gallons and let it click off twice. The DIC said 26.8 but it's always reading high by 1 mpg.

I just got back from a business trip - New Jersey to Richmond, VA. I have a new 2012 Durango R/T that I just took from 500 to 1200 miles on the clock.

I saw a high of 24.5 mpg, and an average of 22.1 mpg. Cruise control set between 72 and 76 mph the entire time.

Way better than the Lincoln Aviator it replaced!
