You will certainly get better gas mileage with the V6 and newer is always better imo!

I think you’ve come to the right place for a truly unbiased opinion. lol
We looked at the Tahoe too; I thought the full frame under it ate up a lot of interior space especially in the third row foot well making the truck bigger than it needed to be. Ride, handling, drivability and overall quality I felt and still feel goes to the Durango.

+1 the Durango rides like a car, I've driven a Tahoe and as expected it has a truckish ride feeling imo. Newer and that new car smell is just the way to have it.

If you use the third row, like I do. You will only get two medium sized suit cases in the back. I use a hitch and haul on long trips, so keep that in mind. You can also get optional roof racks. If you don't need the third row you can pack a lot of stuff in the back. It is a very comfortable driving SUV. I drove 14 hours to and from FL and I did not feel worn out and fatigued. My Durango (V-6) gets about 24-25 mpg with cruise set on 76 mph. I have the tow pagage and pulled a 8x10 trailer with two Harleys and a bunch of outdoor equipment to Fl and still got around 22 mpg driving right around 70-75 mph. My buddy has a 2009 Tahoe he complains about his crappy gas mileage and says it drives like his truck, just looks nicer.

Durango hands down. The Tahoe platform is getting a bit outdated now as well.

I really wanted a tahoe until I drove one and I also didn't like the lack of space behind the third row. The durango rides and handles much better in my opinion and the interior is hands down superior just my two cents.

I owned a 08 Tahoe. Now 2011 Durango R/T. No regrets whatsoever. Loves how the D rides.performs, and love how it looks on the inside compare to the plain Tahoe.
