Magnaflow might give you the deep sound. Deepest exhaust iv had was headers, no cats, and a magnaflow.

Unfortunately in Northern VA we have biennial emissions inspections and annual state inspections.

You're not following...they do a thorough visual inspection and OBD diagnostic. There is no tossing or gutting the CATS and adding nonfoulers. It doesn't fool them. The state police run the inspection programs.

Default Any comment from RT owners on interior sound?

Just bought a 2012 Hemi Citadel, but haven't taken delivery. My 2005 Hemi Durango has as Dynomax muffler and a smaller than factory resonator. It has a nice sound (I'm told) but I've had to live with female family members complaining about the 1800RPM drone that the mod caused. Males don't mind it for some reason. Now I'm wondering what the 2012 RT exhaust sounds like from inside the vehicle - and any drones? I suspect a tuned exhaust is at least partly intended to avoid drones. While the stock RT exhaust may seem tame to RT owners after awhile, might be a perfect swap for me. Thanks!

I would think so as well, perhaps the mufflers are a bit different?

the R/T does definetly have a different exhaust, much louder, especially under WOT. i agree, they do look the same, but the differences (going by part numbers) are in the mufflers and resonators, but by the way they are made, that is almost the entire cat-back. the R/Ts suspension is also 20mm lower than others. i really like the note of my R/T, no drones at all, if i dont want to hear the exhaust, just be easy on the throttle, but want to embarrass someone trying to push up an on-ramp, you can do it with a press of the throttle. i can get a good deal from Borla, but i just dont know how much better than stock it would sound, dont want to spend all that money for not much more or better sound. but like i said, i am VERY happy with the sound of the stock exhaust.
