Default Poll: Black or Silver R/T with black rims

I ordered a black one because they look badass but think a silver one might be better for me due to it being outside all the time and getting dirty. Silver will also keep the interior cooler and is less likely to attract jealous people with keys. With the black one I'd paint the calipers red and it would match the theme of the 'red and black 07 Charger drag car I'll be hauling.

Anyways I'm going to do 20" black viper rims on either choice and with the silver I'd black out the grille surround. On the black one I'd throw on some red front fender stripes and on the silver one I'd throw on some black front fender stripes (like some Corvettes and Challengers have)

Opinions welcome!!!!

I'm done with the "chrome wheels" look. Had that "bling" look on every one of my SUV's in the past. I'm very much in love with the whole dark wheels theme. Silver SUV with black wheels would look good. But even better, for a black suv, I think the competition grey viper rims would look real sweet. Here's an example (too bad this guy messed up his car):

So in my opinion, I vote: c) black durango with compeition grey viper wheels

I'm with you on the competion gray and black combo. Factory reproduction doesn't make competition gray for the Jeep/Durango wheels. I'd have to get them powdercoated for an extra $300-$350. Then I'd have to find matching paint for the centercaps

I read somewhere on here recently that the company that does the repo's were considering doing a run of the competition grays if there was enough interest. Hell, count me in as it would look ridiculous on a black Durango.

edit:

I just emailed the company to see if they would be interested in doing a small run of them.

I called them last week when sinisterRT told me they would do custom colors. They said they can powdercoat any color for the extra $$$ it would cost to get them done locally.

I'm guessing they buy them from China and the painting is done over there. It seems like they have no local control over what color the rims are painted based on my conversations with them.

I am just the opposite. I am totally done with the black wheel look but not necessarily in love with chrome either. I think a more subdued brushed aluminum or painted silver look is much nicer. My personal opinion of the black look is it makes it look pretty ghetto.

Agreed! I like a bit of contrast and though I also agree with some of the thoughts on chrome, I've never had it on any of my vehicles so I figured 'why not' this time around. Of course, we're not talking about redline pearl which I think chrome works very well with. Black on black would just be too monochromatic for my tastes.

Good luck with the decision, it's a D so it will be dope either way ;-)

I will have to admit Mr.Snowflake, your red D with the shiny wheels looks real nice. When I first saw your pics, I paused in admiration.

Myself I can not stand black wheels on a car. But this is just my two cents on it
