I received my Grant SRT8 steering wheel yesterday and began the install. Amidst removing the airbag the back plate on the airbag scratched the lower steering wheel spoke pretty good (removed some of the silver paint...doh).

After I was finished crying for little bit (not actually, but I added that for some dramatic effect...hahaha) I began thinking of a solution short of replacing the part altogether. Then it dawned on me.

All in all, this is just a little teaser for everyone. I am going to wait out the night to give the paint and the clear coat time to cure fully. So yep, here's the steering wheel spokes done up in some of the remaining Redline Pearl I had left over from my engine cover paint job.

Any thoughts on friggin' dope this is going to look?

Thanks bro! It took forever though. The left spoke kept getting mugged by the wind on my back patio, so stupid me I tried removing little hairs and stuff with my finger...HELLO finger prints. Ugh! I ended up dropping the issue until the primer dried entirely and then sanded it all down again. Still had some very minor imperfections but the paint and clear coat really ended up covering it all. I'm pretty stoked with how it turned out and just hoping that I don't do anything to hurt them during the re-installation process. My poor D is sitting in the parking lot without a steering wheel...haha!

Oh man, those look sweet. I can't wait to see the installed pics. I can see those done in carbon fiber in my future!

Check out JNL Hydrographics...they do some amazing work and have a plethora of different patterns and design ideas. They would be a perfect resource for what you're looking to do! Check out SINISTERRT's various engine pieces he's had done through them...totally SICK!
