Default Flowmaster: Force II versus American Thunder

Does anyone have experience with either one of these exhausts? Cmil which Flowmaster system do you have?

The way that the descriptions read I am concerned that the Force II might be too quiet compared to our pretty decent factory exhaust, and that the American Thunder might be too loud or have excessive drone.

Any insights are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Frank

Hey Frank,

My Flowmaster Catback exhaust claims it had the American Thunder mufflers. When I start it up, the neighborhood knows it. Really deep tone, under a load (normal driving), sounds really good. Highway driving has a little drone, I don't mind it, family likes it.

It's not loud for no reason, as some of the "teenie bopper" cars sound, the volume, and deep tone/growl is there when needed. Once the 'ECO' light comes on, its pretty quiet on the inside. If you'd like to hear before you get it, I'll try to take a video so you can hear it start up and idle.

As far as I know the only system available from flowmaster is the force II with the 50 series mufflers. Do you guys have knowledge of another p/n for an American Thunder System? Your welcome to check mine out if u like Frank!

What I love about this thread is ALL THREE OF US happen to reside in the Garden State! We should plan a time in the next several weeks to grab breakfast or lunch together someplace and show off our rides. I'm dying to hear your exhausts and see the Viper style wheels from Factory Reproductions.

I'm down for a jersey meet... All I see listed is p/n 817564 which is a force II system... I see amazon has it listed improperly. The best place to buy is performancepeddler.com I believe I paid like $564 shipped!

That sounds like fun gents!

btw, I bought the same system, the stainless steel. When it came, the paper work said American Thunder mufflers (all I know is that they are not quiet ) I paid more than $564 unfortunately.

Hey Craig, same part number. According to the flow master website, http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/se...?partno=817564, it comes with American Thunder mufflers. I confirmed on my paperwork.

That is weird. Now I have to see if there is a difference between the two of us.
