Default 2011 R/T 6k miles, bald tires

Just rotated the tires on my 2011 R/T with 6,000 miles and was shocked to see the two factory rear tires are almost down to the wear indicators. The fronts are fine, look almost brand new. I have never had any issues with the TPMS telling me the tires are high or low, and I have checked the pressures manually a few times and they are consistently 36psi cold (which is what is stated on the door).

Dropped it off at the dealer to have the rear alignment checked, but I do not have high hopes. Is there a tire warranty I should try to enforce, or are tires just considered wear items, and I am SOL?

Thanks

Just got the R/T back...dealer says the alignment is fine, and the wear on the tires is normal. The service writer says there is nothing he can do, but the service manager said he "will make some calls". Sounds like I am SOL and will be replacing tires before I hit 10,000 miles on a brand new vehicle. Awesome...

Sounds like a crock of **** to me, I would contact dodge directly and open a claim with this issue!

You need to go to a store that sells tires. E.G. Discount Tire, Tire Kingdom. Tell them to contact the tire manufacture and see what the manufacturer of the tire can do for you. Vehicle manufacture's are not responsible for the warranty on tires the tire manufacture is. I had to do this once with some Goodforayears and Goodyear didn't replace the tires for free, but did sell them to with a 80% discount.

Is this an AWD, or RWD? If RWD, is anyone young driving it? Ever leave it with a valet? Perhaps someone likes smoking them? Just a thought, having had teen drivers, and having been a particularly bad one myself...my father was really upset with the dealership that couldn't seem to ever fix the rear axle that kept going out....

Yep and with the fibrous wheel well liners, seems it would be difficult to remove the evidence.

AWD...just my wife and I driving it. Never valet, and the kids are only 9 and 10, so if they are driving it, I have bigger problems to worry about. I have tried to smoke the tires, and it really can't, so I don't see this as the problem. My wife drives moderately aggressive, but we had a Z06 (that could smoke the rear tires, and often did when she drove) where the rear tires lasted 15,000 miles. I have maintained proper pressures, and they say the alignment is good.

I did get a call from the service manager last night stating that he left a message for the the tire manufacturer, because he agrees that the wear is "not right". I hope to hear more today. Has anyone else had issues with tire wear?
