Question Anyone running staggered wheels?

I've been looking into running a staggered 22x9 front and 22x10 rear wheel setup but ran into a little problem. The proper sizes to keep the overall diameter the same front to back to keep the AWD safe would be 275/40/22 front and 305/35/22 rear, which should fit nicely, especially with Viper Reps at offset +35 front and +50 rear. The issue is I can't find a matching set of tires in these two sizes. Even if I drop down to 295/35/22 in the rear, which would still be AWD safe, still can't find a matching tire in the two sizes! Anyone got a staggered setup?

Yeah man! Hopefully today is the big day. But I'm not confident. I'll believe it when I get the official call!

I questioned the staggered look myself. I like the way the BMW x6 looks with the wider tires in the back. Hopefully someone did it - but if not DJ, you're close enough that when you get it done I can see it lol!

My Jeep has staggered wheels/tires and I love the look. I have 255-40-20 and 285-40-20. I think you could do a 265-40-22 and a 295-35-22 or a 305-35-22

I'm not sure about the Durango's AWD setup, but most active awd systems I've seen do not like different front vs back rim sizes (i.e. width) if it wasn't that way from the factory. This is due to different rotating masses, it'll cause some awd systems to sense wheel spin that may not be there, etc. Again, I don't know for sure, but something to keep in mind other than just overall wheel diameter.

I'm also looking to get the same 22" staggered set up. Norge brings up a good point tho. I would hate to get the wheels and run into trouble with them on the truck. Scottina, I take it that you haven't had an issue with the staggered wheels?

Norge, +1 I would agree.

On an AWD and computer controlled setup, different sizes are likely a long term bad idea.

come guys...I come from jeeps with this same awd system and trannies since 2005. There are tons of Jeeps with staggered wheels with the qt1, qt2 and qd2. As long as you stay within about 3% of the stock overall diameter you are FINE! Matter of fact the 2006-2010 jeep SRT8 has the same Merc tranny and drivetrains many of you have.....and staggered wheels are standard. If this werent my wifes vehicle I wouldve ordered staggered wheels.

+1 imo it would be fine just haven't seen it done yet so that's why I went with a square set up.
