Default Splitting audio front to rear with VES

Just took delivery of a 2012 Citadel (thought I was getting a Crew but the deal was at the price of a Crew) with the video entertainment system (VES).

I know that the audio can split between the speakers and the headphones but is there a way via Lockpick or similar to have DVD audio on rear speakers but have the radio on the front speakers in a split arrangement?
We had an Acadia that could sort of do it sending audio from the rear headphone jacks to speakers as a solution.

The kids dislike the headphones after a while so I am trying to eliminate them.

Do they make IR speakers maybe as a solution?

My kids aren't thrilled with the headphones either, but I can't see how the solution you're looking for would be the least bit viable. Having two audio sources playing at the same time, even on different speakers has to sound like a zoo. I could see everyone being unhappy with that. Having said that, I don't see why you couldn't get an IR speaker on the same frequency as the headphones.

In our Acadia the split audio worked well and was not what you may think. The radio up front for me was fine and their little speakers next to the headrests was fine for them but almost not noticeable to me at all.

I will look into IR speakers and report when I find a solution.
