Radar hook up to mirror power ??? anyone done this?

I had the dealer (who is a good friend) advise me that it's all digital up there so there so no good point to pull power from. I took my Valentine 1 power from the center console 12v outlet by your right knee.
  1. Pull off the side panel by your right knee
  2. then slide it backwards to unclip it from the hinge at the front
  3. unclip the power connector that clips to the back of the 12v cigarette lighter
  4. You will need to shave back the protective sheath on the power cable
  5. I used two snap through power connecters that automatically splice when you cimp them (radio Shack)
  6. Feed your new 12v wire up and over the brake/accelerator and then slot it into the rubber barrier going up the doorway
  7. took me 10 mins and not a cable in sight

If you have the automatic brights, I'd suggest ensuring that your detector won't block that sensor. I presume it is behind the mirror, but not sure.
